QUALISTRAND is a linear composite comprising glass fibers bound together by a high performance resin matrix. Numerous round or profile shapes are available, with custom or special requirements always welcomed. Standard round sizes start at 0.25 mm and go up to 3.2 mm. continuous unspliced lengths of 50 Km or greater are available to meet each customer’s demands. Various coatings are available to improve adhesion and tolerances. Water blocking coatings are also available.

QUALISTRAND is used in fiber optic cables as a dielectric strength member both in the core and in the periphery. With a smooth surface, tight diameter control and high temperature properties it is the preferred choice of cablers. Typical average properties for common diameters are outlined below. This table does not include many of the available sizes or shapes.
